How to keep law and order in the Wild West (aka Web 3.0)
With every new frontier, laws are thrown into doubt.
This is the issue that needs to be discussed. Governments are trying to form new policies to regulate Web 3.0 when it arrives. One concept that may prove useful is the DAO, or Decentralised Autonomous Organisation (more about them in the next blog). These are communities that anyone can join, and decisions are voted on using the blockchain. This has developing implications for healthcare.
For example, in research in the life sciences, funding can be based directly on the vote of the community. The distribution of funds would be based on “smart contracts”, automated programs. This means research can bypass the traditional hierarchies of the Jungle, which have historically delayed innovation in healthcare for years.
