PARENT WEBINAR: It Starts with the Breath: Could Breathing be Affecting Your Teen’s Sleep, Focus and Emotional Regulation?
If you're parenting a neurodiverse young person, you're likely no stranger to the hard days, the meltdowns, the sleepless nights, the struggles with focus at school, and the mood changes. You've probably tried a lot of things. While there is rarely a single cause, one often-overlooked factor is the way they breathe.
Breathing is something we do more than 20,000 times a day, yet few of us learn how breathing patterns influence the brain, nervous system, sleep quality, attention and emotional wellbeing.
Emerging research suggests that breathing may play a bigger role in everyday functioning than many people realise, particularly for neurodiverse young people.
Join Alan Butler, Functional Breathing Coach at Voix Studio, for a practical session exploring why breathing patterns can have a big impact on neurodivergent brains and the nervous system, and how improving the way we breathe can help you and your child.
Rather than offering another quick fix, this webinar invites parents to consider a different perspective.
Together we will explore:
- Why neurodiverse brains are especially sensitive to poor breathing habits
- How mouth breathing and poor sleep can impact mood, behaviour, and learning
- The connection between breathing, focus, attention, and cognitive performance
- How the nervous system works, and how breath drives calm or chaos
- Practical strategies families can begin exploring at home
