Screen time: A monster or a hidden gem
Would you believe that kids spend, on average, over 7 hours glued to screens every day? It's not just about cutting down screen time. It's about making it smarter!
How? Well, we need to get our kids involved in the process. Show them the power of choice. And here's how they can do it:
- Consumption, Creation, and Connection: These are the three 'C's that can help your kid explore their screen time.
- Consumption: Activities like watching TikToks or reading a book.
- Creation: Writing, making art, working on a personal project.
- Connection: Connecting with others, be it online or offline.
Ask them: "Which activities feel best?" Is it more fun to go to a friend's house than sending a text? Is watching a movie more satisfying than scrolling through TikTok?
But remember, not all screen time is bad. A tablet can be a canvas for digital art or a gateway to learning a new language.
It's crucial to be mindful of screen time. Ask your kids: "Are you getting what you want out of this?"
Finally, we need to understand why our kids turn to screens. For fun? To relax? Does it accomplish that goal?
**Is screen time the villain we've painted it to be?
Or are we just using it wrong?**

For sure, there’s a lot more to think about and talk about, so let’s share and create a Voix Guide together, and find out what’s important for YOU.
