You. You always hear about connection.

Connect with your friends on Facebook, connect your phone number to your Snapchat account, etc.

But do you ever stop to think about what that word really means?

It is obvious we need to connect to each other. And we need to connect through touch, in our hearts, and in our brains, in order to live a rich life. It makes us feel alive. And it is really necessary.

Remember those times you felt a connection with someone else before? You realize it is the very spice of our time on earth.

Yet what is connection?

Online companies will tell you, to make money, that “connecting” with someone is adding them on Linkedin, or Facebook, or any other app. But answer this question honestly - how many of your Facebook friends do you feel you can open your heart to?

There is the risk that when you’re constantly told how many “friends” you have on these social platforms, receiving likes and requests, you ignore a growing loneliness and sadness in your heart.

You think “this is it, I’ve connected with someone else today.” And maybe you haven’t at all.

It doesn’t matter what sort of connection we’re talking about.

The reality is all intimacy comes alive when you come together with the person in the same space. Then you can get on each other’s page! You know this, it’s obvious.

But these days, it’s not always easy.

It’s easy to stay inside and send memes to your friends, or talk to them on the PS4, or in the comments of an Instagram post. It’s easy to pat yourself on the back and say the job’s done.

Yet you know the magic happens when people come together. And if you could use your phone to make that happen more, you might just find the book of life opening itself more and more to you.

You deserve it!
